Two Suspects Charged With Cattle Theft

Fort Worth, Texas - Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) Special Ranger Marvin Wills located and recovered three head of cattle stolen from Thornton, Texas. The cattle were recovered at a Clifton livestock auction. 

Brian Gaskin of Thornton, Texas, and James Abraham III of Groesbeck, Texas, were subsequently arrested by the Limestone County Sheriff on charges of theft of cattle less than ten head. 

"Cattle theft is alive and well in Texas, which is why public awareness is so important," TSCRA Region 5 Supervisor Hal Dumas said. "Thanks to the help of the Limestone County Sheriff's office and an anonymous informant, Special Ranger Wills was able to locate the cattle after a search of livestock auction records and return the stolen cattle to the owner."

Gaskin and Abraham are being held at the Limestone county jail with a bond of $10,000 each.

 

Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association has 28 special rangers stationed strategically throughout Texas and Oklahoma who have in-depth knowledge of the cattle industry and are trained in all facets of law enforcement. All are commissioned as Special Rangers by the Texas Department of Public Safety and/or the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
