TSCRA responds to Perry announcement on private property rights

Fort Worth, Texas-TSCRA President Jon Means made the following statement following Governor Perry's press conference today on strengthening private property rights for Texas landowners.

"Reforming the eminent domain and condemnation law in Texas is a top priority for TSCRA. 

"TSCRA supports legislation, including a constitutional amendment, to protect landowners through good faith condemnation negotiations, adequate compensation for condemned property, and a fair price for landowners if they should be able to buy their property back.

"TSCRA looks forward to working with Governor Perry, Senator Duncan, Representative Orr and the rest of the Legislature in solving this important property rights issue once and for all."
