Midland
area
Cattle Raisers meeting to focus on national ID program
FORT WORTH, Texas,
April 18, 2005―Beef cattle producers in the Midland area are
invited to attend a free TSCRA membership gathering and educational
program on Tuesday, May 10.
Registration
begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by a complimentary supper at 6:00 p.m. and
an introduction and welcome from Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers
Association. You don’t have to be a TSCRA member to attend.
The
educational session begins at 6:45 p.m. with an update on plans for the
U.S. Animal Identification program from a representative of the Texas
Animal Health Commission.
“The
purpose of Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association’s
membership gatherings is two-fold,” says TSCRA President Dick Sherron.
“We want to provide local opportunities for cattle producers to meet,
visit and get some good information. But more importantly, we want to
concentrate on gathering up some new members.
“Please
come and bring your friends and neighbors who should be members of
TSCRA,” Sherron urges. “We must increase the number of cattle
producers we represent if TSCRA is to continue to be an effective voice
for beef producers.”
The
Haley Library, Alan Thompson, Chris Scharbauer and Becca Heidelberg are
hosting the event, which will be held at the Haley Library at 1805 W.
Indiana Ave. (intersection of L St. and Indiana Ave.) in Midland’s
