Ethanol,
eminent domain will highlight TSCRA summer
meeting
FORT WORTH, Texas, June 3,
2008 —Attendees of the TSCRA summer meeting to be held at the Hyatt
Regency Lost Pines Resort, June 15-17, will hear from top speakers on some of
today's hottest topics: ethanol, the Trans-Texas Corridor and eminent
domain.
Gregg Doud, National
Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA), will discuss the local and global impact of
ethanol in the June 17 general session, which begins at 9:00 a.m. at Hyatt's
Lost Pines Resort, near Bastrop.
As chief economist with NCBA,
Doud focuses on the economics of industry, trade and international policy
issues, all of which are at the forefront in today's debate over the future of
ethanol and how it will impact cattle producers and the world.
Also speaking in the general
session, attorney Mike Barron will discuss other important issues in the news -
the Trans-Texas Corridor and eminent domain. Barron's law firm, Barron &
Adler, focuses exclusively on cases involving eminent domain, condemnation and
regulatory takings.
Barron brought to the firm
his years in litigation practice with the Attorney General's office, rising to
the level of chief of the antitrust division under Attorney General John Hill;
and several years in private practice primarily representing landowners in
eminent domain litigation.
