Documentation Checklist

    ü Contact your local Emergency Operations Center with any requests for assistance

    ü Retrieve any previous personal or business records, photos, etc. you have and store those in a safe place, if possible.
       

    ü Take pictures of any losses you may have sustained:

  • Dead or injured cattle or horses
  • Pastures which have been flooded, eroded, or are otherwise not usable
  • Damaged or missing fences, troughs, feeders, or other minor structures
  • Damages to barns, homes, sheds, and other major structures
  • Any feedstuff which is no longer usable
  • Water tanks, ponds, canals, etc. that are no longer usable
  • Roads, bridges, or other roadways which have been damaged
  • ü Maintain complete receipts and accurate records of all emergency purchases.

    ü Keep all receipts and records pertaining to your cattle operation for at least seven years.
