Pictures from Ike relief efforts
Ingenuity at work: small boats were used as water troughs until relief supplies could be located for the stray cattle.
A gate, TSCRA posted sign still attached, stopped a house after it floated off its foundation in the storm surge.
Strays congregate at a make-shift roadside hay and watering station.
TSCRA's Executive Director of Law Enforcement and Theft Prevention Services Larry Gray speaks at a producer meeting for hurricane victims. Approximately 100 folks attended the impromptu gathering, where they learned about relief efforts and received a packet of information including carcass disposal guidelines and important contact numbers. Also pictured: Dr. Monty Dozier, seated on pickup and Jason Skaggs, TSCRA executive director of government affairs and public relations, right. Dozier is in charge of coordinating agricultural resources at the Resource Staging Area in Anahuac.
A welcome sight: water troughs for thirsty horses and cattle wait for distribution at White Park in Anahuac while a caravan of utility crews prepare for the long task ahead.
