Mazurkiewicz to direct Texas AgriLife Extension's leadership program Dr. Jim Mazurkiewicz has been named leadership program director for the Texas AgriLife Extension Service. His new position is an expansion of his previous duties as administrator of AgriLife Extension's Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership (TALL) program. "With the aim of increasing AgriLife Extension's impact in the leadership development arena, Jim will work as a liaison across the Texas A&M System and at state, national and international levels with key stakeholder groups," said Dr. Ed Smith, AgriLife Extension director. "Dr. Mazurkiewicz has achieved extensive management and international experience that amply qualifies him for this new endeavor." Mazurkiewicz will continue to administer the TALL program, which he had led since 1998, as well as the Leadership Extension program sponsored by the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Smith said. During the previous 20 years, he served as an AgriLife Extension agriculture agent in Brazos, Ector, Knox and Guadalupe counties. The Houston native earned a bachelor's in animal science in 1977 from Texas A&M University, a master's in agricultural education in 1986 from Texas Tech University and a doctorate in animal science in 1995 from Texas A&M.
