TSCRA Daily News Update, May 5, 2008
TSCRA signs up 34 new members at Altus, Okla. gathering TSCRA's May 1 membership gathering at Rio Rojo Outfitters near Altus, Okla., exceeded all expectations when 34 attendees signed up as new members. There were so many new members that the supply of TSCRA gate signs, sponsored by Bayer, ran out well before all new members had received theirs! New members that didn't get a sign at the event will receive one in the mail. Close to 200 attendees enjoyed entertainment by Chuck Milner and a brisket dinner. They then listened to a talk given by TSCRA President Jon Means about TSCRA's commitment to Oklahoma; and Scott Williamson, TSCRA special ranger, also discussed the association's hard work in law enforcement and gave valuable theft prevention tips. Special thanks go to host Tanner Holder of Rio Rojo Outfitters, TSCRA Special Ranger Ben Eggleston, Mark Holder and the Stockmans Bank employees-many of whom attended to help with the event- as well as Mark's wife Kathy Holder and daughter Haley, who staffed the registration table. Kathy Wood would also like to give a special thanks to her "dust angels:" TSCRA Vice President Joe Parker and TSCRA Director Van Baize for guiding her through the dusty backroads of Oklahoma. Appreciation also goes to sponsors Stockmans Bank and Dr. Melonie Brown Denten's Sandy Creek Vet Clinic for their support of the event.
