TSCRA supports RFS waiver communication

TSCRA has been a strong supporter of Governor Rick Perry's petition to the Environmental Protection Agency to reduce the Renewable Fuels Standards (RFS) on ethanol.

TSCRA has become aware of a web site dedicated to this petition called "Food Before Fuel." This website provides factual information about the impact of corn used in ethanol production on food prices, energy, the environment and world hunger.

The Food Before Fuel website is supported by interests in the food retailing, poultry and livestock industries. In particular, this effort is trying to generate letters to the EPA, USDA, the Texas congressional delegation, and the Governor's office. The Food Before Fuel Web site facilitates this communication.
