Fall beef and forage seminar slated for August 21

Producers are invited to attend a fall beef and forage seminar slated for August 21 in Rosharon, which will include a hands-on demonstration of injection site techniques. The seminar will be held at Rosharon Livestock, 10945 FM 521 in Rosharon, Texas, with on-site registration beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Speakers will include Dr. Larry Redmon, Extension forage specialist, who will give a talk on your best return from winter forages. Dr. Jason Cleere, Extension livestock specialist; and Jason Bagley, Texas Beef Council, will lead a live injection site demonstration on proper injection site techniques and the effects bad practices will have on your bottom line.

Texas AgriLife Extension, Texas Beef Council, Damon Farm & Ranch, Brazoria County Beef & Forage Committee, and Galveston County Agriculture Committee sponsor the event.

A free meal will be also be served, with thanks to meal sponsors Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and Bayer HealthCare.

The event is free, but RSVP is requested for the meal count. Please RSVP by August 18 by calling the Brazoria County Extension Office at 979/864-1558, extension 110.
