Student membership events held at Texas Tech
and Texas A&M

TSCRA held membership gatherings for students at Texas Tech University on April 8 and Texas A&M University on April 16. Both meetings were a success, with a turnout of 48 attendees at Tech and more than 200 students attending the Texas A&M meeting. Approximately 70 folks signed up for student memberships at both events.

The Texas Tech meat science department served a fajita dinner at the Lubbock meeting and students had the opportunity to participate in a talk with Heath Hemphill and Dustin Dean, Ph. D., on networking for a successful career in Agriculture.

Appreciation goes to Missy Bonds, responsible for putting together the event, as well as speakers Hemphill and Dean.

Big thanks go to sponsors Fort Dodge Animal Health, T-Bar Ranch and City Bank for making the Tech event possible.

Unfortunately, emcee and TSCRA association promotion committee member Missy Bonds lost her voice before the April 16 meeting at the Texas A&M Beef Center in College Station; so Missy's sister and A&M graduate Bonnie Anderson handled introductions.

Keith Johnson with Fort Dodge Animal Health and Todd Richardson of Micro Beef Technologies held a discussion on networking and careers in the agriculture industry.

Thank you to Missy Bonds, Bonnie Anderson, and TSCRA Special Ranger Hal Dumas for helping at the meeting. Jason Cleere and staff at the A&M department of animal sciences also deserve a round of applause.

Thanks and appreciation also go to sponsors Fort Dodge Animal Health; Micro Beef Technologies; Fist Victoria Bank; TSCRA Directors David Eppright and Jim McAdams; and TSCRA committee member Gordon Richardson, Gordon Richardson Estate Planning.
