Beef Industry Town Hall Meeting tonight in Huntsville
The Beef Industry Town Hall Meeting for Wednesday, Apr. 30, will be held at the Walker County Fairgrounds in Huntsville. Producers do not have to be a member of any industry organization or association to attend. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. and a free meal will be served at 6:00. Presentations will begin at 6:30. more

The European Commission (EC) forecasts a steady decline in domestic beef production for the foreseeable future. Consumption also is predicted to decline, but at a slower rate. more
 

Delisi and Meadows appointed to Texas Transportation Commission
Gov. Rick Perry appointed Deirdre Delisi of Austin and William Meadows of Fort Worth to the Texas Transportation Commission April 30, which oversees the Texas Department of Transportation. Their terms expire Feb.1, 2013. more

Texas crop, weather, 4-30-08
Crop conditions improved in Central, East, North and parts of the Rolling Plains thanks to rain, according to reports from Texas AgriLife Extension Service agents. However, much of the rest of the state remains short of moisture. The cost of fertilizer remains a critical issue for many producers throughout the state. more
