Fredericksburg-area cattlemen enjoy TSCRA gathering

Approximately 190 people attended TSCRA's cattlemen's gathering in Fredericksburg Sept. 20 and six new members joined on site.

TSCRA President Jon Means explained that a strong membership base is especially important to counter the many threats from vocal and well-funded activist groups. Executive Vice President Eldon White updated participants on industry issues in Austin and Washington, D.C.

Nathan Macias, Texas State Representative for District 73 attended the event as did several law enforcement officials.

Hosts for the meeting included TSCRA Special Ranger Max Hartmann, TSCRA Directors Richard Eppright and W. Clay Jones; TSCRA Committee Members Gordon Sauer and Elmer Ahrens, Gillespie County Sheriff Milton Jung, Leland Geistweidt, Ryan Sauer, Bob Bertelson, Joe Sagebiel and Steve Wetz and the Gillespie County TSCRA Steak Team.

The steak team served up an excellent meal and Franny Hartmann once again provided her delicious cookies.

Sponsors included Ahrens Research, American Bank of Texas, Arrowhead Bank, Capital Farm Credit, Coleman Distributing, Gillespie Livestock Co., Lochte Feed & General Store, Pedernales Vet Center, Security State Bank & Trust, Stroeher & Son, Inc., Sauer Cattle Co., Ltd., Silveus Insurance Group and Walco International, Inc.
