Gov. Perry appoints
members of the Cattle Raisers to the
Texas Animal Health Commission
Ernie
Morales of Devine was selected as chairman of the Commission for a
term to expire at the pleasure of the governor. Other TSCRA members
appointed are Randy Brown of Lubbock, Kenneth Jordan of San Saba,
Mark Wheelis of Victoria and Richard Winters Jr. of Brady.

unveils proposed regulation changes
The Texas Parks and
Wildlife Commission's Regulations Committee has authorized agency
staff to take proposed regulation changes out for public comment and
will make a final determination at its March 25-26 meeting.

USDA
reopens and extends comment period for proposed naturally raised
marketing claim standard
The U.S.
Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has
announced that it is reopening and extending the comment period for
the proposed voluntary standard for a naturally raised marketing
claim for livestock and meat. The Jan. 28, 2008, deadline has been
extended to March 3, 2008.
