Barbados,
Indonesia open trade to U.S. beef
The United
States Department of Agriculture's Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS)
has revised its Export Library for U.S. beef export requirements to
Barbados and Indonesia following separate agreements by the USDA and
both countries' authorities to allow access for beef and beef
products.

Congressional leaders push
for veterinary workforce expansion act
Wisconsin Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin spoke to a House subcommittee
for health Wednesday in favor of the Veterinary Public Health
Workforce Expansion Act, legislation that would increase classroom
and laboratory space in veterinary schools and enable more students
to enroll.

organizational changes
The Texas
Water Development Board (TWDB) has undergone a revision of its organizational structure, including redirecting
board leaders to more active focus areas and realigning resources to
facilitate recent changes to TWDB operations.

E. coli:
source of the 'next biofuel'?
Scientists have genetically
engineered E. coli that is highly efficient in producing
butanol, a promising new type of biofuel. This new technology could
speed up the development of butanol biofuels into a cost-effective
alternative to ethanol.
