TSCRA Summer Meeting
June 17-19, 2009

The TSCRA Summer Meeting will be June 17-19 at the La Torretta Del Lago Resort in Montgomery, Texas, located just north of Houston on the banks of Lake Conroe. The Summer Meeting is open to all TSCRA members and friends of the cattle industry.
The Summer Meeting will begin with a welcome reception on Wednesday evening (June 17th) from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (dinner is on your own following the reception). The committees will meet during the day on Thursday with the Cattle Raisers Party that evening from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. The TSCRA board of directors will meet Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.
Committee topics will include: federal regulatory pressures impacting natural resources; the impact of the dairy liquidation on cow prices; Bovine Virus Diarrhea (BVD) and other animal health updates; whitetail deer management programs; and a cattle theft update. Other topics will be added as the committees finalize their plans. A report on the outcome of the Texas 81st Legislative Session will be given during the Board meeting. The board meeting will also feature a panel discussion on carbon credit trading involving representatives from the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), NRCS and the ranching community.
